High exhaust temperatures are reduced by installing the air-to-air heat exchanger between the turbocharger compressor discharge and the intake manifold. This is because cooling the inlet air charge also lowers the exhaust temperature. Lowers exhaust manifold temperatures by 350 degrees and has less than 1 psi of pressure drop to eliminate turbo lag.
